Term 2 - Week 7

BBC micro:bits - Badges Continued

Everyone did really well last week getting to know their new micro:bit's.

Some of you managed to get your micro:bit working with code editor, and made some running code that even carried on working when you disconnected it from the laptop and used the batteries.

A number of you also started exploring the code blocks for buttons and other interactions. This week, we're going to stick with the Badges project, so everyone can get a better feel for how to get basic interactions working.

Skills:

  • Inputs - getting used to the buttons on your micro:bit;
  • Sequencing instructions - getting the order right!

Challenges:

  • "Displaying a sad face" - add some code to a new 'on button pressed' event;
  • "Make your own badge" - can we make our own badge? What other blocks could we use?
